Gulf Coast O&P is now seeing patients in our new Fort Walton Beach facility at 28A Walter Martin Rd. NE. For appointments call the new office at 850-226-6378.

Transportation a Problem?

No problem! GCOP is pleased to offer complete in-home prosthetic services for clients with transportation difficulties. Call our office for details.

With Gulf Coast O&P, and especially Steve's encouragement, I have been able to rechannel most of my apprehension regarding using a prosthetic leg to a more positive attitude.

Perry Gray Jr.

With the prostheses provided by Gulf Coast O&P, I am able to enjoy my precious independence. Gulf Coast have always been understanding, courteous and respectful.

William Tisdale

When I have a problem with my leg, Steve and his staff always come through with a reliable and comfortable solution. They always have time for me.

Mike O'Brien

The extra care and attention given when making my below-knee prostheses has always been super, and the friendly atmosphere makes my visits seem like with family.

John F. Barresi

I would like to commend Gulf Coast O&P for the fine job they did on replacing my amputated leg with a prosthetic limb. Not only is it functional, but is also very comfortable.

Meet the Gulf Coast O&P Team

Steve Gavin

Steve Gavin, certified prosthetist-orthotist (CPO) and Florida licensed prosthetist-orthotist (LPO), hails from Canberra, Australia. After his graduating in 1990 from LaTrobe University School of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Melbourne, he gained valuable experience in acute and rehabilitation hospitals in Australia and Canada before migrating to Jacksonville, Fla. in 1995. After serving five years with a national O&P company, Steve moved to Pensacola to open Gulf Coast O&P.

Steve is particularly interested—and has developed a special skill—in microprocessor-controlled prosthetic knee and ankle systems. In his free time, you may find him golfing, hiking, traveling or competing on the soccer pitch.

Travis Richards

Travis Richards, CPO, LPO, joined the Gulf Coast team in 2012. Travis, who hails from Empire, Mich., has lived in Florida since 1986. He received his B.S. degree in exercise science from the University of Florida in 1995 and completed the Northwestern University orthotics program in 1997 and the prosthetics program in 2000. Travis completed his orthotics residency in Jacksonville in 1998 and his prosthetics residency here at Gulf Coast in 2001.

Travis is Florida-licensed and dual-certified in orthotics and prosthetics by the American Board for Certification. His professional interests include lower-limb orthotics (particularly sports bracing) and microprocessor-controlled prosthetics components. Away from Gulf Coast, Travis enjoys his family, running and racing motorcycles.
